Hello All! My name is Grace Marie Sakurada, daughter of Michael and Micaela. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am a multi-racial person born and raised on the ancestral homelands of the Nisenan people, near the Sacred Mountain, ‘Estom Yanim (the area also know as Yuba City, Ca and the Sutter/Marysville Buttes). I am honored to be here on the ancestral homeland of the Cahto people. My known heritage includes roots in El Charco (Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mexico), Japan, and Ireland. I am still in process and exploring my Spanish and Native American roots. I was first called to Mendocino County in 2013 and have since felt called more and more north until I landed here in November of 2023. I am a deep feeler and thinker. I am excited to get to know the land and the community to see, hear and feel into what ways I can be helpful and supportive.

Where I find ease: I find ease elbow deep in soil with cow manure compost on my face and in my hair. I find ease in a 110 degree greenhouse planting, singing, breathing, admiring, learning. I find ease near bravely vulnerable humans showing up as they are and witnessing me as I am. I find ease in a loving community. I find ease in the arms of my beloved partner and children.

My “why” in this work: I believe in connection and relationship as healing. I believe so much good comes from just being in a therapeutic relationship. I envision a world where we all have safety in our own bodies, minds and homes so that we can heal in whatever way feels right to us.
