Andrea McCullough, M.D.

Dr. Andrea McCullough fell in love with Northern California almost 20 years ago during her residency in the Bay Area. She found the region’s eclectic, creative, and peaceful vibe to be the perfect fit for her lifestyle. “It’s the perfect mix of everything I like: full of life, but at the same time, peaceful and familiar,” she says.

Dr. McCullough’s passion for helping people led her to a career in medicine, where she thrives on making a difference in the lives of her patients. As a family physician, she provides comprehensive care for men, women, and children. Her services include preventive medicine, vaccinations, annual physical exams, chronic illness management, and treatment for acute or serious conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Dr. McCullough earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her family medicine internship and residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Though she returned briefly to her hometown in Pennsylvania, her love for California brought her back in 2007. Since then, she has provided care in various capacities, including nearly a decade as an emergency physician at Mendocino Coast District Hospital and stints at Ukiah Valley Medical Center and Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her medical expertise, Dr. McCullough has a unique connection to the local community through her involvement in theater. She has performed in over 10 plays since moving to Mendocino County, including Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, where she embraced the challenging role of Tybalt. She credits her acting experience with enhancing her ability to empathize and connect with patients. “In acting, you must adapt to any role, just as in medicine, you must tailor your approach to meet each patient’s unique needs.”

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. McCullough is passionate about improving access to care for the uninsured. She also cherishes the opportunity to care for her neighbors and friends in the community she calls home. “I want my patients to see me as a friend and ally in their health journey,” she says. “I strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable, understood, and empowered to make informed decisions about their care.”

When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll likely find Dr. McCullough enjoying the Northern California lifestyle she loves—whether on stage or exploring the beauty of the region.
